The Moira Tourism Industry Networking Expo has proven to be a big success, with many stallholders and strong crowds attending.

On Thursday, November 23, at the Cobram Civic Centre, businesses across the shire came to showcase their businesses and engage with like-minded people at the expo.

Moira Shire Council marketing manager Scott Williams described the event as a big success.

“We had about 20 stallholders with six doing demonstrations,” he said.

“We had businesses from every corner of the shire come together to put their products on display.

“It was really great to see everyone together, and many connections were made.”

Mr Williams said more than 100 people walked through the doors during the day, and all the businesses enjoyed networking and connecting with the community.

Businesses in attendance included Billsons Beechworth, Byramine Homestead, Tocumwal Chocolate School and many more, all bringing their different crafts to display.

Among the stallholders was Julie Hall from Cactus Country, who was there to connect with some new businesses.

She said the feedback she received from people was all positive.

“It was really good to talk to all of the businesses directly and find out what they do,” she said.

“I had brochures, garden flyers, and the menu to let people see what we do and know what Cactus Country offers.

“It was totally worthwhile attending; well done to the organisers.”
